SippingFox® – The Lake District Drinks Company

All of our SippingFox® own-brand products are proudly produced and bottled in Greenodd, just on the edge of Ulverston in the Lake District – keeping everything local and close to home.

Our journey began in 2018, born from a tremendous passion for all things drink. What started under the name Lake District Drinks quickly evolved. Today, we proudly trade as SippingFox® – The Lake District Drinks Company, led by the creative duo of Judy Cropley and Gemma Hines.

Judy, our Managing Director, began experimenting with flavours a few years ago in her home kitchen. The launch of her initial creation Rhubarb and Chilli Gin revealed the true potential of their handcrafted spirits. Since partnering with Gemma, the pair have steadily grown the business, combining creativity and joint dedication throughout their journey.

Together, they have crafted an exciting and award-winning collection of 14 popular drinks: seven gins, two vodkas, one moonshine, and four rums – all lovingly made in the Lake District.

Award-Winning Excellence

On 1st August 2023, SippingFox® was proud to receive three national Great Taste Awards, selected from over 14,000 entries. We were thrilled to be among the top 11% to receive two stars for both our Elderflower and Lemon Gin Liqueur and Rhubarb and Chilli Gin Liqueur. Our Chocolate Rum Liqueur also earned a one-star award, placing us in the top 28%.

Then, on 1st August 2024, our success continued with two more Great Taste Awards – this time for our Cinder Toffee Rum Liqueur and our first full-strength gin: the ‘Straight Up’ London Dry Bergamot Edition both earning a one-star award.

Then on 29th July 2025, we were delighted to receive two more Great Taste Awards – this time our Rum and Raisin Rum Liqueur and our Coffee and Cardamon Rum Liqueur both earning a one-star award. This year saw a record number of entries to the Great Taste Awards, with 14,340 products being submitted from 110 countries. In total, 5,680 entries received an accolade.

Local at Heart, Bold in Spirit

With more flavours now in development and testing we are constantly pushing creative boundaries. Some of the ingredients used are locally sourced and some even foraged by us! So if you see someone balancing on a ladder collecting elderflowers around the Lakes, it’s just part of the next batch of our Elderflower and Lemon Gin coming to life.
